[07:07] <SA6BSS-Mike> looks like BZ is up
[07:08] <PE2BZ> I was up at half past six :-)
[07:09] <SA6BSS-Mike> hehe, ok, it did a nice jump in alt whn it came online :)
[07:09] <SA6BSS-Mike> winds are calmer in the morning
[07:10] <SA6BSS-Mike> better scheduler a nap this afternoon :)
[07:11] <PE2BZ> There´s only 100 uF tantalium cap over solar, and it usuallay is spinning a bit when going up. But listening to half an RTTY string gives mre peace as listening to silence :-) after balloon release ;-)
[07:12] <SA6BSS-Mike> it does for sure!
[07:13] <SA6BSS-Mike> thats why I have a cw init on the wspr board, good to know it flying until it starts to report
[07:15] <PE2BZ> Mine was on a clamp on the roof, rtty and lora and fix in less than 20 seconds. There is a moment you have to let it go :-)

[07:16] <PE2BZ> 1 lora receiver on habhub, 11 on the TinyGS network. Let this one go around the world once please :-)
[07:18] <SA6BSS-Mike> so do I need a tinygs configured lora rx or any lora setup?
[07:18] <SA6BSS-Mike> as it might come this way

[07:21] <SA6BSS-Mike> fixed hab tinygs freq this 432.662?
[07:22] <SA6BSS-Mike> Yoko balloon?
[07:28] <PE2BZ> Abt Yoko, yes. 10.5 payload 17.5 total lift
[07:29] <PE2BZ> abt tinygs, your choice to disable autotune and do fixed tune to satellite BZ-LORA-6

[08:27] <thasti_> long hiatus behind me, let's see how this goes
[08:27] <SA6BSS-Mike1> fingers crossed!
[08:28] <SA6BSS-Mike1> balloon used?
[08:28] <PE2BZ> SA6BSS-Mike1, I knew you could do it :-)
[08:28] <SA6BSS-Mike1> :)
[08:28] <thasti_> dual qualatex, nothing fancy
[08:28] <SA6BSS-Mike1> roger, silver or cleaned?
[08:29] <thasti_> silver
[08:29] <thasti_> i still have the clear chinese balloons around, will probably go for them next flight
[08:31] <SA6BSS-Mike1> or clean of the Qualatex with aOH and fly them with 6 gram fl , dont know how much you have followed the discusion of cleaned Qualatex / grabo? they can take lots of more FL when clear vs silver
[08:31] <SA6BSS-Mike1> *NaOH
[08:32] <thasti_> haven't really followed #highaltitude lately, sounds interesting though!
[08:32] <thasti_> what kind of float times do they reach when cleaned like that?
[08:33] <SA6BSS-Mike1> in short, the silver (or ny colour) maked them heat, thats why we can only use 2,5 gram fl on those, when cleane of - made clear/transperent thay can take the double fl as they dont heat up
[08:34] <SA6BSS-Mike1> best so far is 118 days
[08:34] <SA6BSS-Mike1> with a 5 gram payload, single balloon
[08:35] <thasti_> impressive!

[09:09] <DK6OV> Hi
[09:09] <SA6BSS-Mike1> thasti_:
[09:09] Last message repeated 2 time(s).
[09:09] <thasti_> huh?
[09:10] <SA6BSS-Mike1> they work fine for all I know, others been using them on lots of flights
[09:10] <DK6OV> PE2BZ: may I receive BZ-LORA on 432.662 MHz and LORA Mode 2 ?
[09:11] <SA6BSS-Mike1> yes, 432.662 mode 2
[09:12] <DK6OV> Thank you. I received a few RTTY frames jet. So I have to wait for LORA.
[09:13] <thasti_> SA6BSS-Mike1: I also didn't use to have issues with them, but a few of my last flights seemed to suffer some sort of issue above this altitude..
[09:13] <SA6BSS-Mike1> something gets cold and stops/drift out of freq
[09:13] <SA6BSS-Mike1> usally some xo/tcxo
[09:15] <SA6BSS-Mike1> you have a rx setup? have you watched the tx, have it drifted out or just stoped?
[09:15] <thasti_> stable as a rock until it stopped
[09:15] <SA6BSS-Mike1> ok
[09:16] <thasti_> the only thing not on a 1ppm TCXO in this payload is the MCU, so the only thing I could imagine is the UART baud rate going way off .. hard to imagine but will have to test
[09:16] <thasti_> i ran a few altitude scenarios with a GPS simulator here, seemed to not cause issues in isolation
[09:17] <SA6BSS-Mike1> is it the utrack V2 ?
[09:17] <SA6BSS-Mike1> using msp430?
[09:17] <thasti_> yes
[09:18] <SA6BSS-Mike1> ok, not familiar with that, dont see any xo on the schematich?
[09:18] <SA6BSS-Mike1> https://github.com/thasti/utrak
[09:19] <SA6BSS-Mike1> you use the internal clock of the micro
[09:19] <SA6BSS-Mike1> ?
[09:20] <thasti_> different repo, https://github.com/thasti/utrakHF
[09:21] <thasti_> internal clock of the micro only for UART+I2C, the RF and GPS have TCXOs
[09:21] <SA6BSS-Mike1> the pic series ic:s work fine with the internal xo in flight where the 328 does not, it fails at about 4-5000m due to cold (from own failed flight experiance)
[09:22] <SA6BSS-Mike1> so either something changed in the msp430 or have you used a xo on previus flights?
[09:23] <thasti_> flew this kind of MCU configuration like 20x before, never had issues - the only causal link is that it started with a new batch of M8Qs (bought from upu at the time)
[09:23] <SA6BSS-Mike1> roger
[09:23] <thasti_> but will put it in the thermal chamber and see what it does..
[09:23] <thasti_> running out of ideas here, couldn't spot anything suspicious on the GPSes itself
[09:24] chris_99 (uid26561@id-26561.lymington.irccloud.com) joined #highaltitude.
[09:25] <SA6BSS-Mike1> no, the Q series use Tcxo , and I flown all of the 7 series C/Q all worked fine
[09:25] <thasti_> yep
[09:25] <thasti_> okay, good to know :)
[09:27] <SA6BSS-Mike1> so, I would guess something "new" you aded that not like the cold
[09:34] <PE2BZ> SA6BSS-Mike1, can you disable autotune to fix TinyGS to my ¨satellite¨ ?
[09:35] <SA6BSS-Mike1> ok
[09:36] <SA6BSS-Mike1> AT off, will it tune to -6 whn it gets closer?
[09:37] <PE2BZ> with AT off you should select a satellite yourself, left top in the list.
[09:37] <PE2BZ> Choose BZ-LORA-6 over there
[09:40] <SA6BSS-Mike1> looked all over, cant see any select
[09:41] <PE2BZ> Nm, it bursted.
[09:42] <SA6BSS-Mike1> whutt! thats strange
[09:42] <SA6BSS-Mike1> you did prepump it?
[09:42] <PE2BZ> Nope
[09:43] <SA6BSS-Mike1> ah, that is a must do, else they burst!
[09:43] <SA6BSS-Mike1> tested it , the Yoko are strange this way
[09:43] <SA6BSS-Mike1> they cant handle to unfold and expand in -30
[09:44] <PE2BZ> Sometimes there is a ¨not match¨ between low winds , payload and balloon preparing. Lesson learned
[09:44] <SA6BSS-Mike1> yes there is!
[09:44] <PE2BZ> Back to the TinyGS? If you choose the green button right on top, ¨operate¨ you get an ¨operation¨ pop up
[09:45] <PE2BZ> with ¨autotune¨ on top, telling ¨enabled¨
[09:45] <SA6BSS-Mike1> prepp balloon, prepp payload, prepp weather, choose two
[09:45] <PE2BZ> disable, and in manual tuning select the satellite you manually want to track.
[09:46] <SA6BSS-Mike1> I dont get anything like that
[09:46] <PE2BZ> you asked /weblogin at the bot ?
[09:46] <SA6BSS-Mike1> im rading up...
[09:47] <SA6BSS-Mike1> reading
[09:50] <SA6BSS-Mike1> aha, its not in the web ui of the board, its online, had to ask the bot for a link
[09:50] <SA6BSS-Mike1> for next time then!
[09:51] <SA6BSS-Mike1> cool, you can tx from there to :9
[09:51] <SA6BSS-Mike1> :)
[09:52] <PE2BZ> You can keep your GS running in auto mode, and if some strange / new satellite is around and the TLE is not right you can set the satellite to manual, if your GS reports it the system logs the time and RX location to get better ideas which satellite is where. There are 2 operating in 434 and some in 401.7 range
[09:53] <VK5QI> yeah... all of fossasats stuff
[09:53] <VK5QI> tinygs is basically free groundstation telemtry for them
[09:53] <VK5QI> they are a commercial operation too
[09:53] <SpacenearUS> New vehicle on the map: 03SP6ZWR_chase - 12https://tracker.habhub.org/#!qm=All&q=SP6ZWR_chase
[09:54] <PE2BZ> I know, but can´t care about that kind of stuff. Gives me chances to find noise free locations for TinyGS, test with antennas and so on.
[09:55] <PE2BZ> Cutting an DAB antenna to SlimJim for fossasat at this moment ;-)
[09:55] <PE2BZ> VK5QI, is it expected that Horus-gui does not support !dial for RTTY payloads ?
[09:56] <VK5QI> im not sure i upload the dial info to habhub from horus-gui at all
[09:56] <VK5QI> but it should show up on amateur.sondehub.org
[09:57] DK6OV (~DK6OV@2a02:560:58ce:0:3f09:813c:3e0c:ac32) left irc: Quit: Leaving
[09:58] <PE2BZ> The payload shows up nicely, no problem, even shows RTTY modulation AND RX qrg when the uploading station has it set, but I expected the dial to work too
[09:58] <VK5QI> hmm, it looks like it uploads
[09:58] <PE2BZ> !dial BZ-RTTY-6
[09:58] <SpacenearUS> 03PE2BZ: Can't find a flight doc matching your query
[09:58] <VK5QI> afaik dial only works if there is a flight doc
[09:59] <PE2BZ> So, if ever, habhub vanishes with the out of date servers, can we still make flight docs ?
[09:59] <VK5QI> there is no flight doc functionality in sondehub, it doesnt need it
[09:59] <VK5QI> well, not to separate and extract data
[09:59] PH1M (~PH1M@160-125-177-143.ftth.glasoperator.nl) left irc: Quit: Leaving

[09:59] <VK5QI> bz-logper (14 dB, 434.663 MHz)
[10:00] <VK5QI> (on amateur.sondehub.org)
[10:01] <VK5QI> so with amateur.sondehub.org we have the db, we have the map, and we have dashboards and ways of extracting data by time range in various formats. hopefully someone else can step up to add a UKHAS string parser
[10:06] <PE2BZ> Tbh, don´t hold your breath for me to do such stuff ;-) I saw you live at the zoom meeting, you are young ,enthousiast and have a lot of knowledge. My age is about 3 times yours, and the rest is 1/3th ;-)
[10:06] <VK5QI> i'm just hoping to get other people involved, i have limited time to work on this, along with auto_rx and other projects
[10:06] <VK5QI> what i would like to see is someone to pull the payload and maybe flight doc bits out of habitat
[10:07] <VK5QI> like, we can host it, thats fine
[10:09] <PE2BZ> Now where´s my balloon gone...

[14:35] <PE2BZ> resonator is working at 8 MHz
[14:35] <PE2BZ> took the other 2 boards, added 5 pins for ftdi, same sync error.

[14:36] <PE2BZ> Now the LoRa chip and GPS are wired to a not working module. Must be something ... All 3 modules start with blink when powered up. All 3 have RX and TX wired to the 328p.

[15:01] <SA6BSS-Mike> for that you probably need a working bootloader on the board for it to work
[15:01] <SA6BSS-Mike> any ASBasp arround?
[15:01] <SA6BSS-Mike> usbasp
[15:02] <PE2BZ> yes, that type ftdi, and yes usbasp around, but mosi, miso sck are wired to LoRa module
[15:04] <PE2BZ> are you thinking about missing bootloader ?
[15:04] <SA6BSS-Mike> imgur is slow

[15:04] <SA6BSS-Mike> for a serial programer to work you must have a bootloader to comvert the rx tx programming to isp so to say
[15:06] <PE2BZ> I have an USBASP with wires :-)
[15:08] <SA6BSS-Mike> yes, im quite sure using mosi miso and so son will make it work
[15:08] <SA6BSS-Mike> imgur acting up

[15:22] <SA6BSS-Mike> working?
[15:22] <PE2BZ> Let[ see if I am the only one who remembers Catweazle ....
[15:22] <PE2BZ> Nope, that was what he said, followed by ¨nothing works¨
[15:23] <SA6BSS-Mike> ah
[15:23] <PE2BZ> Cant´t even read fuses
[15:25] <PE2BZ> replacing usbasp driver now
[15:25] <SA6BSS-Mike> you need a high volatage swing (no cliped sine) tcxo, I have always 100% of the time resurected all my 328 with such
[15:25] <SA6BSS-Mike> just solderen in on xo pin A

[17:05] <PE2BZ> SA6BSS-Mike, managed a workaround :-) avrdudes did communicate with the pro mini, arduino IDE kept whining there was no USBAPS. So I had arduino IDE write me a hex file, which resulted in 2 choises, tbtracker with bootloader.hex and without bootloader. So I flashed the with bootloader and now I can program the same pro mini with the FTDI. Had to remove mosi and miso from the lora however temporarily.
[17:06] <SA6BSS-Mike> roger, glas it worked for you :)
[17:06] <SA6BSS-Mike> *d
[17:07] <PE2BZ> thanks for the support. Going to flash the other ones too tonight.
[17:08] <SA6BSS-Mike> roger, new flight tomorrow?
[17:09] <PE2BZ> Might happen this weekend, chances for tomorrow are low. Did you ever rush solar together ;-)
[17:09] <SA6BSS-Mike> get the yoko up to 0,350 -0,400 for 30 min, should eb enoght for pre flight prep
[17:09] <SA6BSS-Mike> hehe
