[13:12] <Bozzey> !flights
[13:12] <SpacenearUS> 03Bozzey: There are no flights currently :(
[13:12] <PE2BZ> Hi Bozzey !
[13:13] <Bozzey> Hello PE2BZ
[13:13] <PE2BZ> You missed a flight with 2 lora trackers. You know they are announced (quite late ;-) ) at ukhas groups on Google ?
[13:13] <PE2BZ> https://pastebin.com/GVT84Av1
[13:13] <Bozzey> Quick question, would sonde auto_rx run ok on a pi B rev2.1?
[13:14] <PE2BZ> These are my experimental findings for hamrmonic suppression of a RS41 reprogrammed with RTTY
[13:15] <PE2BZ> Bozzey, sure, for one rtl device at least, had not tried that with 2 devices.
[13:16] <Bozzey> OK, been going through a cupboard and found that old pi and a nesdr smart rtl stick, so will try it
[13:18] <PE2BZ> Does the NESDR run with E-4000 tuner ?
[13:20] <Bozzey> No, think it is the R820T2 after a quick google
[13:20] <Bozzey> https://support.nooelec.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005807694-NESDR-SMArt-Series
[13:21] <Bozzey> mine is not the XTR type
[13:22] <happysat> yes 820 i have the same one
[13:22] <PE2BZ> Roger. For E-4000 there are some extra installation steps to allow offset tuning.
[13:22] <Bozzey> So should be ok for pi and auto_rx?
[13:23] <PE2BZ> No problem !

[13:48] <D-Arne> Hi all, did you ever experience that balloon remnants entangle the strings of the parachute (those between chute and payload) in such a way that the chute cannot open anymore?
[13:49] <D-Arne> During two successful flights before, the chute opened completely, there were considerable remnants of the balloon left. Descent rate approx 4-5m/s, as intended.
[13:49] <D-Arne> In my recent flight (ALBATROS-2), only the balloon neck with some tape remained, and nearly no balloon remnants left.
[13:49] <D-Arne> T
[13:49] <D-Arne> These remnants had the size and weight of two golf balls and caused a mess to the parachute. I found them wrapped to the lines BELOW the chute.
[13:50] <D-Arne> Obviously they "overtook" the parachute during descent and then entangled the strings...
[13:50] <D-Arne> How can this be avoided?
[13:50] <D-Arne> The line between parachute and balloon neck was approx. 5m long. Is this length really necessary?
[13:50] <D-Arne> In other words, can't the balloon tied to the chute directly?
[13:50] <D-Arne> If there are remnants left then, they would then be ON the chute, and would still allow it to open (at least partially)...
[13:51] <D-Arne> Your help is highly appreciated... :-)

[17:15] <OZ1SKY_Brian> nickoe been wondering about that too
[17:16] <PE2BZ> OZ1SKY_Brian, your welcome. I had to set the gaing from 2 to 12 on the airspy to ¨see¨ the harmonic on 1300 MHz, so I did the test again with gain at 12 on all 3 frequencies.

[17:18] <PE2BZ> That appears to have been launched from or near the coast watch location ? If I recall right that´s the third this week.
[17:18] <Bozzey> No, missed it, only just got auto_rx running about 10 mins ago
[17:19] <PE2BZ> OZ1SKY_Brian, on 854 we are close, you measured 58 dB difference and I 59 dB :-)
[17:19] <Bozzey> Ooo, one just launched near me

[17:23] <PE2BZ> Bozzey, which frequency ?

[17:27] <OZ1SKY_Brian> whats the snr?
[17:28] <PE2BZ> Bozzey, do you have a table in auto_rx which shows SNR on top and the value below ?
[17:28] <OZ1SKY_Brian> PE2BZ V1.2 have a SNR value in the GUI
[17:29] <SpacenearUS> New vehicle on the map: 03KN4GQL-11 - 12https://tracker.habhub.org/#!qm=All&q=KN4GQL-11
[17:30] <Bozzey> Peak -17.94 you mean?
[17:32] <PE2BZ> No, http://zanco.dyndns.org:5999/ the table before ¨other¨ I think it´s not on your ayto_rx (yet)
[17:34] <PE2BZ> OZ1SKY_Brian, but you have to enable the experimental decoders for that. I don´t think Bozzey started with experimental decoders enabled.
[17:36] <OZ1SKY_Brian> as i read it, they are enabled by default on V1.2?
[17:37] <Bozzey> The signal for that sonde is hardly above the threshold, should be a strong signal

[17:52] <Bozzey> Do I need to blacklist some of the noise peaks to get a lower threshold?
[17:54] <OZ1SKY_Brian> the block will only speed up the scan, so it dont try to detect signals on them.
[17:54] <PE2BZ> It´s good to set the blacklist for the noise peaks if you are sure they are not on a radiosonde frequency. De SDR is a zero ppm version ?
