[07:38] <PE2BZ> Good morning all.
[07:40] <PE2BZ> The Dutch Jota launch should have a live stream from around 10:00 local time in the Netherlands, weather is not that good, they wait for the heavy rain to end and start filling for the flight after that. Small field with some 12 meter trees so 20 meter of the Vaisala cord below the payload to have it rise above the trees. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECFd0UhJFU4&feature=youtu.be
[07:43] <OZ1SKY_Brian> Best of luck
[07:49] <PE2BZ> Thanks. http://cdn.knmi.nl/knmi/map/general/weather-map.gif
[07:50] <PE2BZ> Launch location is the northwest part of the Netherland, a bit below where the islands start. The big red waterfall....

[08:48] <OZ1SKY_Brian> but at 3.51V?
[08:48] <OZ1SKY_Brian> as i recall
[08:48] <OZ1SKY_Brian> just worked dl7apv on 70cm eme :-)
[08:53] <PE2BZ> at 80 km/h windspeed the tracker got 400 km further so I guess there where no more receivers and then the battery ran out.

[09:26] <OZ1SKY_Brian> hi nick
[09:27] <OZ1SKY_Brian> Darkside can you answer that, if your around?
[09:27] <Darkside> the answer to that is no
[09:28] <OZ1SKY_Brian> Darkside nickoe is the new rx in north Denmark
[09:28] <Darkside> given scans only occur intermittently, im not sure you'd get that much out of it
[09:29] <nickoe> I have some QRM which seem to be intermittent
[09:29] <nickoe> http://69.nickdebug.dk:8081
[09:30] <OZ1SKY_Brian> i got birds too here nick
[09:30] <OZ1SKY_Brian> you can lockout the birds in the config file, ive done that
[09:30] <nickoe> OZ1SKY_Brian: I widened the scan range based on launch locations near me, I am not sure that is a good idea, but there it is. Only one dongle.
[09:31] <OZ1SKY_Brian> beside that your NF looks very good, much better than mine
[09:32] <nickoe> Keep in mind that that big harmonic do make the range of the power axis compressed
[09:32] <nickoe> it is almost 0 db
[09:32] <OZ1SKY_Brian> i see you allready locked it out

[09:32] <nickoe> Does it improve much if I do blacklist the two periodic spikes?
[09:33] <nickoe> I whitelisted the two frequencies used for the DFM
[09:33] <OZ1SKY_Brian> well it omproves the search time, as auto_rx dont spend time to look for signal
[09:33] <nickoe> it makes it much easier to see if you get close to a sonde when hunting
[09:34] <OZ1SKY_Brian> yes i got the "locals" as whitelist too
[09:34] <nickoe> Is log_power_0.csv the data used to generate the stuff shown on thewebpage?
[09:34] <Darkside> yes
[09:35] <Darkside> well, its a temporary file produced by rtl_power
[09:35] <Darkside> auto_Rx reads it in immediately after rtl_power finishes running
[09:35] <Darkside> bbl
[09:36] <OZ1SKY_Brian> nickoe is your gain set to -0 ?
[09:37] <nickoe> no, -1
[09:37] <OZ1SKY_Brian> sorry yes -1, ok good
[09:37] <nickoe> how often do Karup send up a sonde?
[09:38] <OZ1SKY_Brian> only mon-fri
[09:38] <nickoe> ok
[09:38] <OZ1SKY_Brian> only seen launches on weekends during major exercises
[09:39] <OZ1SKY_Brian> last from Aalborg where they launched, also seen Vejers strand some years ago

[10:25] <nickoe> how does that search filter work on the tracker?
[10:25] <nickoe> if I enter OK7DMT-2 I don't get anything
[10:27] <OZ1SKY_Brian> i do here
[10:27] <OZ1SKY_Brian> then it only show ok7dmt-2
[10:28] <OZ1SKY_Brian> to get everything back, clear the box and search
[10:28] <OZ1SKY_Brian> but it changes there time back to last 1 day, so it take abit to load
[10:51] <TT7> about the battery. my estimate for continuous operation on the ground with an average time to get a valid GPS fix of 4.5s was between 50-60 days
[10:53] <TT7> in flight however the temperature is much lower, so battery capacity is less. On the other hand, the GPS module at these temperatures typiclly stops responding during the night, so ithe active time shortens to only a timeout.
[10:54] <TT7> then again the last few days the tracker has had trouble acquiring fix during mornings about doubling the average active time.
[10:56] <TT7> I don't know what could be the source of the issue, so can't tell whether it will get worse or stay the same.
[10:57] <TT7> in other words, who knows how long the tracker might work :)

[17:22] <PE2BZ> nickoe, the ¨bad data¨ was having the tracker on the top floor inside a building, no good GPS lock but habitat upload enabled allready. Usually, without lock, the sonde transmits zero´s and that is known as invalid, but with 2 or 3 satellites the tracker thinks to know where it is....
