[10:19] <JET__> Hello
[10:19] <JET__> I am currently testing my habduino payload
[10:20] <JET__> I can hear the telemetry beeping in my sdrsharp, but I can't get the tracking software to work
[10:20] <JET__> dl-fldgi appears to show the same waterfall as in sdrsharp
[10:21] <edmoore> screenshot of dl-fldigi please
[10:21] <chrisstubbs> can you take a screenshot showing SDR# and DL-FLDIGI?
[10:21] <JET__> But the version of the software I have doesn't look like the same version on the wiki, and I don't see any green bars or connection.
[10:21] <mfa298> JET__: screenshots will likely help a lot
[10:21] <JET__> Sure, hang on
[10:21] <edmoore> then we'll tell you to hit the Rv button on the bottom right
[10:22] <mfa298> JET__: you need to run it in hab mode to get the HAB interface ( --hab if you're running from a command line)
[10:22] <JET__> I don't have a hab mode
[10:22] <JET__> If I go into the dl configure, I can find the payload lists and I found my payload document, but it doesn't do anything
[10:22] <mfa298> which OS ?
[10:24] <JET__> win7
[10:24] <JET__> screenshots: http://imgur.com/fFdl6YB,5zZw5V6
[10:24] <edmoore> hit sql bottom right so it's off
[10:25] <edmoore> move the red bars on the waterfall over the corresponding yellow bits of the waterfal
[10:25] <mfa298> when you installed dl-fldigi it should have created shortcuts for normal mode and hab mode
[10:25] <prog> it's not even centered on the filter
[10:25] garymortimer (9a49dfc7@gateway/web/freenode/ip.154.73.223.199) left irc: Ping timeout: 246 seconds
[10:26] <JET__> I found hab mode! hang on
[10:27] DL7AD (~quassel@p54996115.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) joined #highaltitude.
[10:27] <mfa298> it's probably worth getting the sdr# centred properly. The red line is the "carrier frequency" (not that there's a carrier in SSB), the shaded area is what's being send to dl-fldigi and wants to have the signal centred in it
[10:29] <JET__> the tracking software is now spitting out random letters
[10:29] <JET__> I can't get my payload, HERMES, to autoconfigure or show up. it's on the payload list but not flight list as im just testing
[10:29] <JET__> also I re-adjusted sdrsharp, the grey area is over the peak now and i can hear a lot more beeping
[10:30] <mfa298> updated screenshots might help
[10:30] <mfa298> 11:21 < edmoore> then we'll tell you to hit the Rv button on the bottom right
[10:30] <JET__> already pressed that
[10:31] <JET__> Random letters from the dl-fldigi: ]*]7?7{O_Z'kc** P)@4D%%WT#: zD2>-\R2Du,!*Q'H(j8YaFl$V ~i%A2QsTa.6"flPr?)l! pywapSr
[10:31] <edmoore> in the modems menu in fldigi go to rtty and manually configure the settings to match your payload's settings
[10:31] <edmoore> and hitting rv makes no difference to these random letters?
[10:31] <mfa298> normally you want rv off, and the drop down top left saying USB (but Rv on and RTTY in that dropdown works as well)

[10:35] <edmoore> thanks for sharing what fixed the problem with us
[10:35] <edmoore> makes it very easy to help others in the future
[10:36] <JET__> I did what you said, I narrowed in the grey line

[10:38] <craag> JET__: The tracker is hoping you'll launch, and has automatically done a prediction :)
[10:39] <JET__> But I didn't supply a flight document. Surely it should just show a payload without a balloon?
[10:39] <craag> JET__: It isn't that clever :)
[10:40] <JET__> Oh... I am sure I have seen some payloads (without balloon) on the map before..?

[10:43] <Upu> morning
[10:43] <JET__> Hi Upu, it's jet... (I have been pestering you with emails!)
[10:44] <Upu> Oh hi there :)
[10:44] <Upu> sorry just got back in from shopping
[10:44] <Upu> sorted ?
[10:44] <JET__> I got the habduino working fantastically, hermes is on the map
[10:44] <Upu> super
[10:44] <Upu> best not launch from there though :)
[10:45] <JET__> Yes, lol. We are going up north-west a bit for the actual launch.
[10:46] <craag> JET__: The map displays a parachute if it thinks the balloon has ascended and burst, and then only after that will display a deflated parachute when it stops descending and is near the ground.
[10:48] <JET__> Ah, I see
[10:50] <JET__> Am I right in saying that chase cars are payloads (payload docs) but the payload name has to have a -chase at the end of it?
[10:50] <JET__> What's the purpose in chase car tracking also?
[10:51] <Upu> no chase cars are different
[10:51] <Upu> so you can see where you are on the map
[10:51] <Upu> in relation to your balloon
[10:51] <Upu> and others can guide you in
[10:51] <Upu> best thing to do is open http://tracker.habhub.org
[10:51] <Upu> on your smart phone
[10:51] <Upu> let it use your position and enable the chase car function
[10:52] <Upu> job done
[10:52] <JET__> How does one configure and track a chase car?
[10:52] <JET__> Ah, Sorry
[10:52] <JET__> My client lagged out. Thank you.

[13:55] <Babs_> afternoon everyone - assuming I can't reprogram my board (because i can't) is there any way i can get habitat to recognise a telemetry string starting with $$$$$ rather than $$ ?
[13:55] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> It will anyway without change
[13:56] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> provided there are two $ before the callsign its happy
[13:56] <Babs_> hey geoff - it doesn't seem to like my checksum though (which is based on $$$$$ rather than $$)
[13:56] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> No the CRC is based on ONLY $$CALLSIGN......
[13:57] <mattbrejza> crc doesnt include $$
[13:57] <craag> Babs_: afaik no, you need to reprogram the checksum to ignore all the $$s :/
[13:57] <mattbrejza> although you could ask for a habitat hotfix
[13:58] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> perhaps more to the question why can't you reprogram it ?
[13:58] <Babs_> snapped off the programmer

[14:00] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> could you not solder it back on as a quick temp fix ?
[14:00] <Babs_> i can but a bit messy. may be the only option and might be quicker just to build another board

[14:05] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> I would just lay the snapped off bit beside it and solder it back, first one side then the other
[14:06] <Babs_> ok good tip - thanks
[14:06] <Geoff-G8DHE-M> I'm guessing you have pth holes as the snap point ?

[16:37] <AdamDynamic> I'm wondering if I've corrupted it somehow when I've unplugged the power
[16:37] <AdamDynamic> I've done that before with a Raspberry Pi
[16:38] <mattbrejza> well you could try reflashing it
[16:38] <mattbrejza> not sure whether the gps is configured to spit out any useful data other than position
[16:40] <AdamDynamic> When I plug it into a monitor there is activity
[16:41] <AdamDynamic> The output string has zeros where the coordinate data 'used to be'
[16:41] <AdamDynamic> On bootup it outputs a summary of the config file though and it doesn't match what I have set it up as
