[18:30] <CablitoF> hey guys
[18:32] <CablitoF> anyone there?
[18:44] <icez> I am
[18:48] <CablitoF> hey ice
[18:48] <CablitoF> so a lot has been going on lately
[18:50] <CablitoF> I just had the wildest idea this morning
[18:51] <CablitoF> since I am at zero budget due to health issues and I wont be able to launch anything except another post in my blog, I have this idea maybe someone could try
[18:51] <CablitoF> I saw the videos of testing the "parafoil"
[18:52] <CablitoF> and it looks like people are working on the descent control parts...
[18:52] <icez> ok
[18:53] <CablitoF> Imagine using a tether for drag
[18:53] <CablitoF> imagine 6 or 10 rolls of 50 feet theters.
[18:54] <CablitoF> just to add drag to the fall, one would be surprised with the amount of drag that creates at high speed
[18:55] <CablitoF> and the tethers could be made of pretty much anything as low tech as paper, or satin (used on curtains and decoration)
[18:55] <icez> fishing wire maybe?
[18:56] <CablitoF> fishing wire might be too thin (and heavy as it gets thiker) but the lenght vs. thinkness does play a role
[18:57] <CablitoF> you know those "old school" kites? where you would make the tails out of plain line and paper strips.... thats the ultimate drag maker, but its kinda clumsy to deploy... if its something that is in a roll of somekind, easier and more fail-safe to deploy
[18:58] <icez> a parachute full of holes?:)
[18:58] <CablitoF> Still, I am not sure I?d like to have a payload of anysize hit my car no matter how big a theter it had if its coming from 20km high
[18:59] <CablitoF> the thinng about parachutes is they can get entangled and not deploy propertly, tethers even if they deploy all entangled they still do the job
