[15:31] <Henry_> hey
[15:31] <Henry_> James, you about?
[15:31] <jcoxon> hey Henry_
[15:31] <jcoxon> yup
[15:32] <Henry_> I just checked the forecast for this w/e, it's looking like 100kts+
[15:32] <Henry_> so probably a no-go
[15:32] <jcoxon> yeah
[15:32] <Henry_> Have you talked to Steve at all?
[15:32] <jcoxon> i've come to that conclusion
[15:32] <jcoxon> i emailed him
[15:32] <jcoxon> he said he'd watch the weather
[15:33] <jcoxon> and then make a decision
[15:33] <jcoxon> i reckon a no go
[15:33] <jcoxon> we wait - means more testing (well it means that i'll finally get round to soldering up this PIC and its circuit
[15:35] <jcoxon> how did the exams go?
[15:35] <Henry_> should give me a chance to get Tracker3.1415 working too
[15:35] <Henry_> eh
[15:35] <Henry_> not as bad as I'd feared, but still bad
[15:35] <Henry_> it didn't help that one of the questions was on material we won't cover until the end of this term
[15:36] <jcoxon> hmmmm - they are always so unhelpful
[15:37] <jcoxon> well i'm in a good mood as i've managed to get USBnet working on my Mac
[15:37] <jcoxon> so i can connect to my gumstix without having to use serial or reboot in to linux
[15:37] <Henry_> oh, cool
[15:38] <jcoxon> which reminds me - are you using the CF card in ben's camera?
[15:38] <jcoxon> or can I have it back
[15:38] <Henry_> I don't think we're using it, but he might have taken his camera back, poss. with card still inside
[15:38] <Henry_> I'll ask him tomorrow
[15:39] <jcoxon> its my card
[15:39] <jcoxon> :-)
[15:39] <Henry_> right :)
[15:39] <jcoxon> i think
[15:39] <jcoxon> if its 128mb then its mine
[15:39] <Henry_> ok
[15:39] <Henry_> I was thinking of putting a short-range wireless RX in the next tracker just to let us do bidirectional comms prelaunch and avoid having to open the payload case
[15:40] <jcoxon> sounds like a plan
[15:40] <jcoxon> i do have 2 868mhz modules sitting in my room
[15:40] <jcoxon> literally serial port extenders
[15:41] <jcoxon> welcome to borrow them
[16:07] <Henry_> hm that would be neat, how big are they?
[16:11] <jcoxon> 50mm x 40mm
[16:12] <jcoxon> just need rx tx and gnd at ttl and a power supply of 4.5v
[16:15] <jcoxon> they'd have to stop transmitting on launch for them to be legal etc
[16:16] <jcoxon> oh they are about 5mm tall (not including the connector
