[20:26] <LaurenceB> I was planning on using it as the controller on a high altitude glider
[20:26] <Ebola> non-expensive colour displays!

[20:27] <LaurenceB> there is an rs232 ic on the board with some caps
[20:28] <LaurenceB> if there was a high voltage on these

[20:47] <LaurenceB> maybe they're looking at my links
[20:49] <icez> :/
[20:49] <icez> i'm not what you would call "good" with electronics stuff:p
[20:50] <LaurenceB> I never have decent equiptment
[20:51] <LaurenceB> my shed is freezing
[20:51] <LaurenceB> I had to defrost my laptop with deicer spray
[20:51] <defy> lol
[20:51] <icez> half the world is freezing
[20:52] <LaurenceB> There was frost all over the screen!
[20:52] <icez> you work outside in a shed?:P
[20:52] <LaurenceB> yes it stops my parents interering with my stuff
[20:52] <icez> lol
[20:53] <icez> I have a more simpler fix for that
[20:53] <icez> I put Linux;)
[20:53] <LaurenceB> ah ye gumstix
[20:53] <Ebola> Frost on your screen?
[20:53] <defy> my office is pretty darn cold, but my pc's aren't frosted, lol
[20:53] <Ebola> Sounds like a good place to get condensation inside your computer!
[20:54] <icez> my "office" is my little corner of the garage ;]
[20:54] <LaurenceB> I use a sacrificial laptop its 10 years old
[20:54] <icez> it's not too bad but it gets cold sometimes
[20:54] <Ebola> ah
[20:56] <LaurenceB> I want to get in touch with the gps boomerang guy
[20:57] <LaurenceB> defy: I heard you emailed him
[20:57] <icez> didn't phatmonkey have a lot of trouble getting answered from him?
[20:57] <icez> :P
[20:57] <defy> yea he's responded to me a few times
[20:58] <defy> heruns gpsboomerang as his business, it seems he's a little secretive about the internals of his nav system...but he was more than happy to give me info about his air frame, and offer to sell me one without the electronics
[21:01] <LaurenceB> that makes sence if its a business I guess
[21:09] <LaurenceB> We could start a competing business
[21:10] <defy> hehe
[21:10] <icez> I bet there aren't many gps-controlled gliders companies around too;)
[21:10] <defy> he's pretty well invested, $70,000 and over 200 flights
[21:10] <defy> but yea, you're right...there are hardly any
[21:11] <LaurenceB> I know for sure some of the people at oxford uni atmospheric phyiscs dept where I was working over the summer would be interested
[21:11] <defy> don't know how high of a demand there is though
[21:11] <defy> cool
[21:32] <LaurenceB> bbl
[22:38] <LaurenceB> okay not much happened while I was away :D
