[17:57] <rocketboy> hey - the UKHAS website (and wiki) seems to be down?
[17:59] <icez> not here
[18:05] <rocketboy> yeah its working here again now - thanks

[19:04] <jcoxon> hey walters
[19:09] <walters> hey jcoxon, I'm just back from vacation in Italy, and guess what, my Gumstix based GPStracker did it's magic in the back of my yamaha R1.
[19:09] <walters> converted to google earth tracks and looking at them is like reliving the trip ;-)
[19:10] <walters> Lots of curves.
[19:10] <walters> By the way Ratoc cards arrived.
[19:10] <jcoxon> oh cool
[19:10] <walters> Just plugged one in, drivers load. So far so good.
[19:11] <jcoxon> well not to burst the ratoc bubble but i've got infomation from someone who has just got usb2 on his gumstix
[19:11] <walters> way cool, what hw ?
[19:11] <jcoxon> he'll announce it once he has cleaned up the code
[19:11] <jcoxon> its a philips chip - he said that the actually interfacing is quite easy
[19:12] phatmonkey (i=nobody@81.2.121.150) left irc: Connection timed out
[19:12] <walters> good, love to hear more when information becomes available. My goal is the camera.
[19:13] <walters> Must be so cool to just add a small cam just behind the motorcycles windscreen and just add a snapshot to each gps sample.
[19:13] <jcoxon> that shouldn't be to difficult
[19:13] <jcoxon> were you planning to completly interface the camera?
[19:14] <jcoxon> or could it be a stand alone camera perhaps with additional data through a serial line or something
[19:14] <walters> I'm planning to use: http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/
[19:15] <jcoxon> with the usb from ratoc
[19:15] <jcoxon> i get it
[19:15] <walters> I have a ov519 bridge and it works well on my etrax board. Just a matter of getting this Ratoc card working and trying to get the driver working
[19:16] <walters> 'shouldn't' be too difficult ;-(
[19:16] phatmonkey (i=nobody@81.2.121.150) joined #highaltitude.
[19:16] <jcoxon> well please document getting it to work - i'm sure gumstix users would like a howto

[19:17] <walters> naturally.
[19:17] <jcoxon> we'll i've managed to interface an enormous DB25 connector to my gumstix
[19:17] <jcoxon> with 2 serial lines, i2c and also lots of gpios coming out of it
[19:18] <jcoxon> don't plan to touch the gumstix again
[19:18] <walters> Ah, you're creating a 'robust' gumstix ?
[19:18] <jcoxon> its just very hard to resolder the silly holes on hte gpsstix
[19:19] <jcoxon> now i can add all the components on another db25 connector
[19:19] <jcoxon> and we are away!
[19:20] <walters> cool, well I will get on my way with the Ratoc, just connected the camera to it (physically) and I'm anxious to try the whole thing...
[19:20] <jcoxon> should be very cool
[19:20] <jcoxon> what are you doing about storage?
[19:21] <walters> no solution yet. I could use a usb memorystick though.
