[08:52] <jcoxon> morning all
[09:18] <defy--> hey
[09:23] <jcoxon> hmmm, am attempting to get the adc working
[09:35] <defy--> no luck?
[09:53] <jcoxon> its going to require a driver
[09:55] <defy--> does it access it through i2c?
[09:58] <jcoxon> no i was going to use the adc on the ucb1400 chip
[09:59] <defy--> ah
[10:03] <jcoxon> oh well
[10:03] <jcoxon> i can see that most of the code is there
[10:03] <jcoxon> but i just don't have the expertise to write a driver to make is usuable
[10:09] <defy--> I've only used the ones on the robostix
[10:10] <defy--> what are you connecting to the adc again?
[10:11] <jcoxon> was going to add a temp. sensor
[10:11] <jcoxon> really wanted just a way to read from it
[11:14] <Weiss> how does it connect?
[11:22] <jcoxon> ummm
[11:23] <jcoxon> as in physically or software?
[11:27] <Weiss> physically
[11:39] <jcoxon> oh there are just 4 adc pins that i could connect to
[11:39] <jcoxon> i actually haven't connected one up
[11:39] <jcoxon> as the drivers don't exist
[11:54] <Weiss> four bits of binary output, or some kind of serial protocol?
[12:03] <jcoxon> hmmm let me check
[12:56] <Weiss> if it's serial, a USB driver might not be too difficult to write
[12:57] <Weiss> iirc you can do it in userspace so avoiding messing around in the kernel
[13:30] <Tiger^> hi guys

[14:25] <phatmonkey> i've added a bunch of stuff to the wiki
[14:25] <phatmonkey> slowly moving it over from the old one...
[14:25] <phatmonkey> i'll probably just change glider.phatmonkey.org.uk into a static page with some info on it
[14:26] <phatmonkey> pegasus style, then link to the up to date information on the ukhas site
[14:27] <defy--> does anyone here have any experience with the attitude sensors from scalerobotics.com?
[14:27] <defy--> or any infra red dual axis sensors i guess
[14:49] <Tiger^> hm, does anyone use macfreak's helium calc spreadsheet?
[14:50] <Tiger^> i wonder if the "weight of system" is everything below the balloon
[14:50] <Tiger^> or everything including the balloon

[16:30] <phatmonkey> Tiger^, yep, just bought a bunch from scalerobotics
[16:32] <Tiger^> phatmonkey, eh?
[16:32] <Tiger^> a bunch of what?
[16:32] <phatmonkey> IR thermopiles
[16:32] <phatmonkey> <defy--> does anyone here have any experience with the attitude sensors from scalerobotics.com?
[16:32] <Tiger^> defy asked about them, not me :P
[16:32] <phatmonkey> oh crap
[16:33] <phatmonkey> that is quite true
[16:33] <phatmonkey> i have a very odd brain
