[19:32] <jcoxon> hey defy
[19:33] <jcoxon> you got your gpsstix yet?
[19:39] <Tiger^> hello guys
[19:39] <Tiger^> hi, jcoxon.
[19:40] <jcoxon> hey Tiger^
[19:40] <Tiger^> finished laying out flight computer pcbs today... what a mess ;)
[19:40] <jcoxon> :-D
[19:40] <jcoxon> my gps aerial arrived today
[19:40] <jcoxon> trying to work out why my gps is being weird
[19:40] <jcoxon> i think its transmiting a binary protocol
[19:40] <jcoxon> not NMEA
[19:40] <Tiger^> oh
[19:40] <jcoxon> :(
[19:41] <Tiger^> it doesn't have NMEA at all?
[19:42] <jcoxon> i'm sure it does
[19:42] <jcoxon> i just need to find out hte command to send to change it to NMEA
[19:42] <Tiger^> right
[19:42] <Tiger^> i'll use Garmin's GPS-35
[19:42] <Tiger^> it's a nice OEM module, with a built in antenna
[19:43] <jcoxon> mine is the built in gps on the gumstix
[19:44] <Tiger^> nice
[19:45] <Tiger^> i'm starting to worry about forests ;)
[19:46] <jcoxon> hehe
[19:46] <jcoxon> no forests round here
[19:46] <jcoxon> the sea though!
[19:46] <Tiger^> yeah, the sea's even worse
[19:47] <Tiger^> i've seen malgar talking about his area full of forests
[19:47] <Tiger^> it's the same here
[19:47] <Tiger^> i've chosen the best site i could, but still
[19:47] <jcoxon> i'm sure it'll be fine :-D
[19:48] <jcoxon> and you eventually just have to launch
[19:48] <Tiger^> yeah
[19:48] <Tiger^> if i were just thinking about failure, i wouldn't do it
[19:49] <Tiger^> but i'm thinking about taking a fishing rod with me ;)
[19:49] <Tiger^> a *long* fishing rod.
[19:50] <jcoxon> yeah good idea
[19:50] <Tiger^> won't help if it lands on a tree, though
[19:51] <jcoxon> well if you know it lands on a tree the good news is that you'll know where it is
[19:52] <jcoxon> you'll get it down
[19:52] <jcoxon> eventually
[19:52] <Tiger^> yeah
