[14:05] <malgar> hi jcoxon
[14:10] <jcoxon> hey
[14:33] <malgar> jcoxon, uhm didn't you afraid of that your payload would fall in the sea?
[14:33] <malgar> (how to say right this sentence in english?)
[14:33] <jcoxon> "weren't you afraid that the payload would fall into the sea?"
[14:34] <jcoxon> of course
[14:34] <jcoxon> i only launched on a day that both the wind and jetstream weren't heading out to sea
[14:34] <jcoxon> if you look at the map of the route it came very close to the sea!
[14:35] <malgar> where did you catch these infos about winds and jet streams?
[14:36] <jcoxon> http://www.wunderground.com/global/Region/EU/JetStream.html
[14:37] <malgar> to be onest i would like one day to launch a balloon like yours (now i haven't money, time and know-how) but italy hasn't big plains
[14:39] <jcoxon> well, you are at the right place for help :P
[14:39] <jcoxon> if the winds are right actually the balloon might only travel 10 or 20 miles
[14:41] <malgar> and another important thing is that i don't know italians law about stratospheric balloons
[14:41] <jcoxon> well in most countries above 60,000ft is unregulated
[14:42] <jcoxon> and i'm sure that the italian meteorological office/department launch everyday
[14:42] <malgar> yes
[14:42] <malgar> but i'm not into an organization :)
[14:43] <jcoxon> i'm sure you'll find out, email around and ask
[14:44] <malgar> anyway i will not launch tomorrow neither next month.. i have time
[14:44] <malgar> :)
[14:46] <jcoxon> i'm just finishing off the application form to launch pegasus II
[14:49] <malgar> i searched for someone that has already launched it but i found nobody in italy :\ in team would be better than alone
[14:50] <jcoxon> a team would be helpful
[14:51] <jcoxon> speak to some amateur radio enthusiasts they are often interested
[14:53] <malgar> yeah good idea
[14:53] <malgar> http://62.202.7.134/img/skewt_16080.gif
[14:54] <jcoxon> wow

[14:56] <jcoxon> right, i get how to read it
[14:57] <jcoxon> very cool/useful
[14:58] <jcoxon> i've bookmarked it, maybe even link to it off my webstie
[14:58] <jcoxon> website*
[14:58] <jcoxon> right will bbl - got to go and scan a map for the application form

[15:10] <malgar> what is important for you is: HGHT DRCT SKNT
[15:12] <jcoxon> yeah, i'll bookmark it - thanks for all this info!
[15:14] <malgar> thanks to you for all those wonderful images :D
[15:15] <malgar> do you know this? http://www.westwind.ch it's great
[15:18] <jcoxon> didn't know about that - do now :-D
[15:21] <malgar> ah another important thing: i'm not sure about but the degrees and diagrams of wind direction show FROM where wind COMES, not where wind GOES (check this info.. im not sure about but it's pretty important)
[15:22] <jcoxon> :-D, yes thats a pretty standard system
[15:22] <malgar> ah ok
[15:22] <malgar> before i wasn't sure
[15:22] <jcoxon> i've now set up my dashboard (osx) on my laptop to grab all the info
[15:27] <malgar> about weather or pegasusII?
[15:27] <jcoxon> weatehr
[15:28] <jcoxon> weather*
[15:36] <malgar> is it simple to set the dashboard?
[15:37] <jcoxon> well i've got a radar-in-motion widget showing the radar for the uk
[15:37] <jcoxon> then i've got 3 image grabbers
